Bill Harry - the founder of MERSEY BEAT magazine has decided to go into print once again with a special edition of his world famous newspaper to coincide with the 2009 Mathew Street Festival and the 50th Anniversary of the Casbah Club in August.
The launch is also to promote Bill's new innovative website. www.merseybeat.co.uk
Specialising
in rock and pop memorabilia it has been four years in the planning by a
team with extensive experience in the field of popular music.
Bill
originally coined the name 'Mersey Beat' in 1961. Back
then he launched a newspaper of that name and later became news editor of Record
Mirror and columnist for Record Retailer, Music
Now and other publications before becoming personal press agent to over
thirty major stars. These included the Hollies, Pink
Floyd, Kinks, Jethro Tull, David
Bowie, Free, Led Zeppelin, the
Beach Boys, Suzi Quatro and Kim Wild
